Manoj: (Age 14 years old, Class 9th Standard)
At the tender age of 2 years, he got lost and separated from his parents in the crowd when they were in Old Delhi Railway Station. Since he was too small he was unable to tell any traceable information. He was taken by a stranger who was willing to let him remain in his home. But as time passed he was physically abused and was kept as domestic servant. One day he ran away when he became frustrated by his situation. He reached Seelampur police station, which took him to Child welfare Committee, Delhi; and from there, was referred to Bal Sahyog in 2006.
Once in Bal Sahyog he got a platform for education and work on his talents. He got talent in drawing and painting and has participated in many art and craft competition and has even won prizes and certificates. Besides this, he is also interested in studies as well as sports. His ambition is to become an engineer.
Rahul Kumar: (Age 17 years old, Class: 9th Standard)
Rahul Kumar got a family behind him but due to his economically weak background he was sent to Bal Sahyog Children’s Home in 2007. He hails from Jaitpur, Delhi.
Initially he was a very quite child but with consistent counseling and support his condition improved a lot and now besides his education, he participates in almost all co curricular activities. He has attended dance classes of Mr. Shyamak Dhawar, the famous choreographer. His passion lies in acting. His debut performance in theatre was in the play called “Lath”, in the role of Pandith Shekhar Azad from Little Theatre Group in October 2007. Yet another play he acted in was “Akhir Khyon” which is also based on addiction, in Lok Kala Manch in August 2008. With God’s grace he got his first breakthrough as a film Actor, in a famous documentary film called “India Investigate”, directed by Mr. Rakesh Bose, based on Madhumita murder case, in which he played the role of the servant who was the eye witness of the murder. He got trained by Ms. Nishta Kakkad, the Assistant Manager of B.A.G Film Ltd., Film City, Noida for the film. With the Bal Sahyog’s assistance, Rahul is now excelling in this field. His life has now changed a lot and now he wants to pursue his career as an actor. Besides this, he is also interested in folk dance.
He has also pursued a vocational training in carpentry through the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.
Deepak Udhyan: (Age 18 years old, Class: 10th Standard)
At the age of 5, he got lost from his family. Since he was unable to recall anything about his whereabouts, it was hard for him to go back home. G.R.P Thana, New Delhi found him on 22/9/1999 and was taken to child line. Then has was handed over to Udhayan Care. He started pursuing his education there. But unfortunately they had the facility to teach till 5th Standard. So, Child Welfare Committee referred him to Bal Sahyog in 2006.
He was not much interested in studies or any other activities then and used to disturb other children. After consistent counseling, he has now shown remarkable changes in his behavior and attitude. He is now taking interest in his studies. His passion is cricket and is working on pursuing cricket as his career.
Deepak Rana: (Age 17 years old, Class 10th Standard)
At the gentle age of 5, his mother expired. He stayed with his father until he was 10 years old. His father was an alcoholic and did not care for him enough. He had undergone physical abuse by his Father and was ignored a lot of times because of which he left his home and somehow reached Delhi. Here, he met with a staff of an Organization called “Badthey Kadam” but as they do not have residential home, he was referred to Bal Sahyog.
He has been a good and well behaved child all throughout his life in Bal Sahyog. He takes interest in studies. His craze is in Acting. he has participated in many dramas through platforms provided by Bal Sahyog. He is associated with Abhigyan Natya Association.
Besides this, he also has done a certificate course in Computer through the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.
